Challenges of the global component shortage – Welcome to the 1st MEX Finland breakfast webinar

To support the collaboration between MEX Finland members and encourage dialogue on interesting topics, MEX Finland will begin hosting monthly breakfast webinars starting this February. MEX Finland is hosting the “Challenges of the global component shortage” webinar on Wednesday, February 16th, 8:00-9:00.

Speakers will share their experiences and provide perspectives on this topical issue and how it has affected their companies and, more broadly, global supply chains.

We are pleased to welcome Professor Petri Helo of the University of Vaasa as our keynote speaker. Professor Helo will discuss how component shortages are linked with other global trends, such as Covid-19, globalization, geopolitics, and digitalization. He will also present some recent cases on how component shortages have come about, the reasons behind them, and, above all, what the companies can do to better navigate the uncertainty in the future. The keynote address will be followed by comments from the companies represented at the webinar, Jukka Saari of Wärtsilä and Peter Lindgren of ABB, who will discuss how their companies have responded to the challenges of global component shortages.
